I’ve been seeing a lot of people freaking out over Venus going retrograde and I thought I’d gather some useful tips and nuggets.
VENUS IN RETRO IS LIKE A 1950'S HOLLYWOOD STAR
Venus in astrology represents love, relationships, art, romance, beauty, sex, and money. She is officially retrograde on October 6th, 2018 in the sign of Scorpio. As with all retrograde periods, any word with “re” in front of it applies; RE-view, RE-visit, RE-evaluate, RE-invent!
Retrograde does not always mean a bad thing!
As she visits the sign of Scorpio during her retro-phase, we may become oddly jealous, make questionable purchases we’ll later regret, or feel the need to reassess our relationship commitments or sexuality. Embrace, don’t re-coil from the sting of all of these feelings. We often find the most valuable lessons when what we keep in the dark, is illuminated.

Venus represents what we like, and rules the signs of Taurus, 2nd house on the zodiac wheel, “House of Possessions” and Libra, 7th house on the zodiac wheel, “House of Partnerships”. So, if we blend the traits of Libra & Taurus in those areas, we can get a sense of what areas Venus’ retro could affect, such as: Libra’s tendency to want balance, harmony, partnerships, peaceful communication and Taurus’ sexual, dependable, materialistic, and stubborn side.

· Venus clears the post-shadow phase December 17th 2018 at 10º Scorpio
EMPOWERING VENUS – WHAT CAN I DO WHILE SHE’S RETRO?
RE-DECORATE– spice up your bedroom with a new comforter, sheets, a rug, or a sexy new paint shade. Squirt a sexy scent on the sheets and in the air. If we want to attract love, we must first love ourselves and our sanctuaries. When you give a little love to the room where the “magic” happens, you’ll feel an immediate boost.
RE-EVALUATE – If you’re single, sit down and write out a list of values you seek in a partner. What does your heart truly want? Now re-evaluate if you have those values. Are you being honest with yourself? If we are expecting another to fill our voids, we will never feel whole. What qualities do you like in yourself? Write those down. What qualities do you wish to work on during this period? Write those down. On the next Full Moon, walk outside and toss your list into a fire. Watch the smoke rise, sending your intentions to the universe.
RE-FLECT – do you have loose ends from a broken relationship, friend or lover? Expect these issues to appear again during the retro period. Until you address them, they will continue to emerge from the depths of the deep blue sea. This retro period is a great time to deal with matters of the heart. Write letters to anyone you feel you would like to make amends with, living or crossed. You don’t have to send them, you can even toss them into the fire on the New Moon. The act of getting those thoughts out of your head and on paper alone is healing.
RE-VIEW – Have you racked up some credit card bills or debts from travel, concerts, clothes, makeup, hair artists, or anything that makes you feel good? This is a good time to take a step back and start re-viewing finances and how you approach money. Make a budget, draw up a plan to save for a future trip, or figure out how to get those credit card balances down.
RE-TREAT– if you’ve been unsuccessful finding love on a dating app, this is a good time to take a break. When Venus goes direct on Nov 16th, log back in with a new profile pic, and give your profile a polish. Those values you re-evaluated on the full moon? Incorporate those into how you present yourself to others. Be true to yourself and it will be virtually impossible for anyone to fool you.
RE-FOCUS – on your feminine self! Use this time to feel empowered by diving into something that makes you feel good. Use that Venus retro energy to pull yourself out of a creative stagnation, take an intro to glass blowing workshop, go to the yoga class you keep clicking “interested” in, or develop your intuition beyond the basic level by using tarot or diving into astrology.
Be careful – this retro period is a double edge sword between balance & beauty! Now is not the time for luxury purchases or placing anything on credit.
